God’s Storehouse Assistant Director – Full Time
God’s Storehouse, a non-profit food pantry serving Danville and Pittsylvania County, has an opening for a full-time Assistant Director (40 hours per week). The position is responsible for providing general support to the Executive Director; recruitment, management, training, retention and coordination of volunteers; manages the routine program operations and provides day-to-day leadership of clerical volunteers. In addition, this position will oversee the Malcom Huckabee Backpacks program (children’s weekend feeding program) through partnership building, food procurement and volunteer management. Other responsibilities include reporting; recording donations and providing input on program operations. This position will establish and implement partnerships between various organizations in order to plan, implement and maintain a weekend feeding program at a school. Skills: excellent oral and written communication skills; working knowledge of computers, the Internet and Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, Powerpoint); ability to interact with a diverse mix of individuals with varied backgrounds; strong organizational skills and attention to detail, experience leading and managing volunteers; general office administration. Some physical activity required: walking, lifting (no more than 40 pounds), pushing, and pulling.
Requirements: High School Diploma or GED, Bachelor’s degree desirable, minimum of one year proven results in non-profit management. 3-5 years of experience as an administrative assistant.
