Maggie Richardson is serving this year as the Americorps VISTA with The Health Collaborative. A typical day starts with her checking emails and researching new strategies for supporting local food systems and community health. She spends a lot of time meeting with and building relationships between people connected to the food system. This includes the individuals and organizations who grow, process, distribute, sell, and consume food. Her role is to build capacity for a thriving local food system where everyone in our region has equitable access to healthy and affordable food. When she's not working on behalf of the Community Food Network, she is supporting the Healthy Eating Action Team and other Health Collaborative initiatives. She loves working here because "everyone is so friendly and takes great pride in their work," she says. "It's a really positive and supportive work environment." Her favorite food is french fries!
