United to Feed the Hungry

Why is God’s Storehouse Needed?

Over 16,000 persons in Danville and Pittsylvania Country live on incomes below the federal poverty level.

An additional 6,721 have incomes just above the poverty level and are unable to qualify for federal/state assistance programs.

The area has one of the largest over 60 populations in the Commonwealth.  Most of these persons live on a stipendiary income and often fall victim to large heating and prescription bills, or other large unplanned expenditures.

An inadequate diet is the principle cause of 6 out of 10 leading killer diseases
